The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat has completed all the preparations to hold Kashmir Convention at the Jinnah Convention Centre here on February 5. The convention is being held in connection with the "Kashmir Solidarity Day" falling on February 5. AJK Council Secretariat Joint Secretary and Chairman of the Convention Committee Faridullah Khan is supervising the preparations.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, would be the chief guest at the convention, while Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Secretary Rasool Bakhsh Baloch would present the welcome address.

A tableau and a short play with the theme of Kashmir cause will also be presented at the convention. Besides, prominent singers will present the Kashmiri songs.

Awards would be given to personalities, who have rendered meritorious services for the Kashmir cause in different fields.

Four awards will be given for the year of 2004 while seven awards for 2005. The award winners have been selected by two different committees.

Speakers at the convention will include members of Parliament's Kashmir Committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Liaquat Baloch, MNAs, Special Assistant to AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan and convenor of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Azad Kashmir Chapter, Farooq Rehmani.
